'Hood Respectibility: The Way I See It

This humanity chart represents a scale of how I see
perceive life as being valued in
the hood.

Note the Black girls, D boys and White gentrifiers.

I am thinking about Camus and his idea
that the death penalty is premeditated murder.

I am thinking about This post and picture.

I a thinking, and acting. You been thinking?
About?......

I think you should put dad's right above police. Take it from someone who knows firsthand from both sides.

the hood has all those folks listed on the chart - from whose perspective is the valuation? clearly not the white gentrifiers - but that are IN the hood - is it the idea that they are "in" but not "of"? if so, then who is "of" exactly? is there an age group, a gender group, etc. in particular whose perspective is represented? or "who" has the perspective opining on the chart (ie where you do fall within the categories)?

two questions:

exactly whose perspective is the graph representing?
how did you come up with this particular hierarchy?

it's a striking visual but it's hard to appreciate it without further explanation.

in the case of lovelle, after a lengthy conversation with my father who was on his way to vacay in Europe we decided that the fact that the last two officers lives could have been saved had they followed protocol bears watching. the fact that those officers were en route to execute a cop killer bears mentioning and if disagree watch the footage of them running to the house where mixon lay in waiting.

the fact that those officers decided that since mixon was cop killer he should be executed represents a long going problem within the community, cops don't represent the community, cops represent the enemy...same as armed black men.

when i heard the police force didn't want the mayor to speak at the memorial i felt like writing the mayor a letter and telling him that he needs to dump the force!

if we go back to the 70s the Panthers were originally to monitor on-going police brutality.

who is policing the police today?

@ Vincent... I was the most ambivalent about placing the dad's there. I moved them two times.
I think I may add an asterisk to communicate my ambivalence.

@Dana (is this D-shot? If so, girl make yourself known. If not, please ignore the fact that I am trying to out you. LOLS.)

Yes. This is my perspective. Came to me while I was thinking about how when I am on the train w/ a white man, I am looked at like dirty filthy scum undercover police, BUT these cats would never challenge the dudes hustling. On my dolo I gets respect, w/ a non black man. Just imagine if I was walking down the street holding my girlfriends hand, VIOLENCE would ensue?

No age. Or gender. I made an arbitrary & artistic choice in breaking it out.

My goal was the think about How Humanity and Respectability is determined, recognized and allocated in the Hood.

Where do I fall? Often times it depends on the level, frequency and intensity of harassment, I feel or perceive other women of dealing with on the street. Its like Black men and popo. The more popo fucks with Black men, the less human I feel, the more black men fuck with us, the less human I feel. Other times I feel like I am in the human area of the chart when I am able to connect w/ young bucks and they are surprised at my willingness to engage OR when I am able to connect with old(er) heads.

it's a striking visual

Thank you.

@AJ
cops don't represent the community, cops represent the enemy...same as armed black men.

Wow. You said it. Didn't you?

They let popo die? WHAAAAAT? I don't believe you, you need more peeeeepppuuuul. What was their rationale for NOT following protocol.

ahnka,

I almost missed you.

I came up with this idea thinking about,
Chris, Rihanna, D Boys, Rap...etc...

I retitled the post, to make it a bit more clear. I hope it helped.

Birkhold told me that it wasn't clear
that I made it..based on the title. Your comment proves that he was right :X M.dot fail.
But NOW its FTW cuz I changed it!

it's a striking visual
=======
Thank you for saying so.

I was really excited when I did it.

Mdot watch the video tape of those officers almost running over an old woman to get into the building where mixon was holed up.

there was no hostage negotiation!
there was no stand off!

those officers thought mixon was only armed with a hand gun and will all my heart I believe they intended to execute him, knowing there would be no recourse for killing a cop killer...

what they hadn't planned on, was your boy laying in wait armed with a fully. they didn't follow protocol because they thought they were more armed than mixon...they were wrong, he picked them off like cherries before they took him out.

had protocol been followed lives would have been saved!

I would put grandmothers over mothers easy if they happen to be around and Dad’s way down on this list

The view of white gentrifiers being more respected then black is mad truthful with a crazy deepness behind it

When I placed the various caveats of who you may or may not be with during a given time in reference to the chart I realized that I might just haft to go pick up my thinking fitted that I usually don’t bring to the office on Fridays

On Lovelle Mixon

The one thing that incident made me relize is know how much I used to indentify with lyrics like these

“the police always trying to aim flame at us
so I don't mind when a pig brain splatters” Vinne Paz

That if I was going to be a respectable human being such generalized condoning of violence against a particular group was going to haft to cease

I don’t think one can argue that the Death Penalty isn’t premeditated murder, because it is, but I not against it per se, I just hate it’s this lands implementation of it.
